Stories of people
Theatre
A new play created by Ascanio Celestini for the University of Padua’s 800th anniversary, telling stories of freedom – stories of people who achieved it thanks to their studies or their curiosity, and people whose struggle for freedom took them through times of anger or fear. This world premiere will also feature stories of people who chained themselves to work and ignorance, but were able to carve out a small space of freedom by concealing a secret, people who broke free by no longer thinking about their chains, or people who arrived at knowledge but found it to be a palace without doors. Written and performed by actor Ascanio Celestini with musicians Gianluca Casadei, Alessio Lega and Rocco Marchi. Produced by Fabbrica srl. On Saturday 21 January at 8:30pm at Teatro Verdi.
