
* Unipd researcher awarded an ERC Starting Grant Dr. Cecilia Laterza, fellow at the Department of Industrial Engineering and grantee of the STARS@UNIPD funding programme, has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant in the last call 2022. This is an important achievement for UNIPD, endorsing further the role of our University in such highly-competitive calls, funding the most promising ideas in frontier research. Our sincerest congratulations to dr. Cecilia Laterza, hosted as ERC PI at the Department of Industrial Engineering.
* Call MUR - PNRR "Young Researchers": 36 researchers at the University of Padua, first in Italy for selected projects The Ministry of University and Research has published the rankings of projects eligible for funding in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) and Seal of Excellence (SoE) funding schemes under the MUR - PNRR "Young Researchers" call. The funding for the selected projects range from 150,000 euros for SoE projects, to a maximum of 300,000 euros for MSCA projects.
At the national level, 83 MSCA and 193 SoE projects have been selected for funding by the MUR, corresponding to over 52 million euros in terms of funding. For the University of Padua, 12 MSCA projects and 24 SoE projects were selected, and the expected funding amounts to 3.3 and 3.6 million euros respectively, more than 6.9 million euros overall.
In both funding schemes, the University of Padua ranks first among the participating Host Institutions, by number of projects eligible for funding and by the total amount of the ministerial funding, currently under allocation.

The welcome meeting was dedicated to the 39 international Fellows and PhD students, selected within the framework of the programme, to foster networking between Fellows and supervisors. During the event, practical information was shared about the organization of doctoral programme.

* LIFE calls 2022: 751 LIFE project proposals submitted - 9 by UNIPD The LIFE Programme's 2022 calls for nature, environment, climate action and clean energy transition projects has resulted in 751 proposals coming in from across the EU. The University of Padua submitted 9 proposals, one as coordinator. The projects can help Europe become a climate-neutral continent by 2050. The EC will inform applicants of the outcome in Spring 2023.

* FARE III Edition Call (2020): 5 UNIPD projects funded by the MUR With D.D. n. 398 of 24 October 2022 (registered at the Court of Auditors on 2 November 2022), the MUR approved the funding of FARE projects - III edition (2020). The University of Padua has been awarded a total amount of 1,417,319.00 euros for the 5 projects presented by PIs who have chosen UNIPD as Host Institution: Prof. Alessandro Aliprandi (Department of Chemical Sciences), Prof. Judit Gervain (Department of Developmental Psychology and Socialisation), Prof. Stefania Gialdroni (Department of Private Law and Critique of Law), Prof. Zuleika Murat (Department of Cultural Heritage) and Prof. Cristiano Nicosia (Department of Geosciences). The call is aimed at attracting ERC winners within Italian universities and public research bodies. Additional funding is granted to researchers who have won ERC calls of the Starting grant, Consolidator grant or Advanced grant types and who have chosen an Italian institution as beneficiary, or who have opted for an Italian institution using the portability institution.

* Extend - The National Technology Transfer Hub Extend, the National Technology Transfer Pole is dedicated to the biopharmaceutical sector. An initiative by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), the Italian National Promotional Institution, it benefits from a 55 million investment plan, aimed at funding Research teams for the development of new drugs and new therapeutic approaches.
The University of Padua is among the Scientific Promoters, along with Ospedale San Raffaele, University of Milan, Human Technopole, University of Florence, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, University of Rome La Sapienza and H-Bio.
The EC has started to work on the creation of a common European mobility data space and is inviting interested stakeholders to provide input. The EC aims to facilitate data access as well as the pooling and sharing of data for more efficient, safe, sustainable and resilient transport. It builds on initiatives and applications related to transport data and will be supported by initiatives to boost interoperability, security, and the availability and provision of data and services.
